Day One is organised around activities and discussion. Day Two gives you the opportunity to implement what you’ve learned by planning and producing a piece of writing. You can also receive 1-2-1 coaching from the facilitator.

Making Progress in Your PhD: Strategies for Completion

9-10th February 2019, Werks Central, Brighton

Are you part-way through your PhD and wondering how to keep going? Do you need a push to progress to the final stages? If so, join us for this two-day workshop. Through activities, discussions, and tutorials, you’ll:

·         Clarify where you are with your PhD

·         Identify your critical success factors

·         Learn tools and techniques to boost your productivity

·         Build a support network

·         Develop a plan for success

·         Make significant progress with your next piece of writing

By the end of the weekend you’ll be all set for successful completion.

Day One is organised around activities and discussion. Day Two gives you the opportunity to implement what you’ve learned by planning and producing a piece of writing. You can also receive 1-2-1 coaching from the facilitator.

Attendees need to bring their research plan and a laptop.

The Venue

The workshop is taking place at Werks Central in the Lanes area of Brighton. It’s a 10-minute walk from the station and a short hop from the beach.

Accommodation

Hotel accommodation is available to attendees on the Friday and Saturday nights. Please indicate your requirements on the application form. There is an optional dinner at a local restaurant on the Saturday evening.

About the Facilitator

Dr Catherine Pope is an academic researcher and experienced workshop facilitator. Since completing her PhD in 2014, Catherine has worked with thousands of researchers and writers to help them achieve their goals. She runs workshops and writing retreats at many universities, including Sussex, Birkbeck, Canterbury Christ Church, Portsmouth, and Surrey. Catherine has also published books in her field of Victorian literature and on technology. She divides her time between the 19th and 21st centuries. You can find out more at www.catherinepope.com
