French for academic purposes

  • Courtauld Institute of Art (map)

This training is designed to allow students to improve their French for academic purposes. It will focus on engaging with written academic French and be tailored as much as possible for the needs of the group. The group will meet weekly for a two hour seminar each of the four weeks of the course. Before this students will be expected to watch a one-hour introductory video and undertake some preparatory activities.

CHASE students who already have basic French and need to improve their skills and engagement with modern academic French. This is not a beginners’ language course, but a specialist course focused on academic language. Completing all preparation is an essential component of participation. If you are not sure about your level of language, please email the programme co-ordinator, Dr Amy Blakeway, University of Kent,

Deadline to register– 26 May. Applications will close at 12 noon on Friday 26th May and applicants will be informed if they have a place by Tuesday 30th May.
