Doctoral Students' Open Day - English & drama

  • British Library Conference Centre 96 Euston Rd London, NW1 2DB United Kingdom (map)

The literary collections at the British Library are unparalleled. Whether you’re looking for an edition of Shakespeare published during the playwright’s lifetime or an email sent by one of the leading British poets of the 21st century, the Library almost certainly has what you need to support your research.

Our Doctoral Open Days are a chance for new PhD students to discover the British Library’s unique research materials. At this event you will learn about our English and Drama collections, find out how to access them, and meet our expert staff and other researchers in your field. The events are solely for first year PhD students who are new to the Library. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

To make the most of your day, you may wish to get a free Reader Pass before the event.

Students will learn about our collections, find out how to access them, and meet our expert staff as well as other researchers in their field. In addition to an understanding of the Library’s collections, the students gain a wider introduction to the information landscape in their field and research opportunities opening up in digital information environment. Numbers are limited and, as these events are very popular, we do encourage early booking. Places cost £5.00 and this includes lunch.

Students are welcome to attend any Open Days if they feel it is relevant to their area of research.
