I'm a second year student in the Law Department at the University of Sussex and I am chairing the SAG this year.  My research is on the role Trade Unions and Students' Unions have played in the marketisation of higher education from 1970 onwards, using a framework that combines critical utopian theory and an analysis of power and oppression.  I am keen to hear from all students about their experiences and will be leading on the creation of a working group looking at Diversity, Inclusion and Outreach this year.  Please get in touch if you would like to be involved in SAG, or if you have any ideas or concerns you would like us to take forward!

University of Kent

My thesis is on female perpetrators of the Holocaust; I am focusing particularly on the female doctors who participated in the human experiments that took place at concentration camps during the Third Reich.

I am a second-year Music researcher. As part of the SAG, I would like to make sure students’ views and opinions are realised within CHASE and that we all have a unique and valuable experience as a part of this group. Together with other CHASE students from Goldsmiths, I am looking forward to hosting the Encounters conference at our university in June 2018!

Open University

I’m Claire, a third year full-time (earlier part-time) PhD student in the Classical Studies Department of the Open University, and the institutional rep for OU CHASE students. My research project analyses depictions of slavery in ancient world television drama through comparison of two contrasting reception texts, HBO’s Rome (2005-7) and Starz’s Spartacus (2010-13). I decided to join the SAG because I believe in the importance of student representation, but also to ensure that students have input into the way CHASE DTP training, research and development decisions are made.
