Project Title: Helping Britain’s Heroes - The Charitable Construction of Disabled Ex-Servicemen of the First World War in Britain.

My research examines the reciprocal relationship between charity and disabled ex-servicemen after the First World War in Britain. This project will investigate a number of charitable schemes, ranging from local voluntary action to national organisations in order to understand the implications of voluntarism upon the lives and perceptions of Britain's disabled 'heroes' in the interwar period.

Supervised by Dr Julie Anderson and Dr Stefan Goebel.
