Paid opportunity to assist with a CHASE training event
‘Scholarly Editing Unpacked’ is a one-day conference organized by Dr Carolyn Burdett and Professor Roger Luckhurst at Birkbeck, University of London. Taking place on Friday 17 November 2017, it aims to challenge preconceptions of the relative unimportance or invisibility of scholarly editorial skills and to equip delegates with a useful nomenclature for thinking about the texts we read and what has happened to them.
The organizers seek administrative assistance to support the delivery of this event, providing opportunity to gain experience of hosting academic events. The assistant will help liaise with catering, room bookings and speakers, organize travel and accommodation for the latter where necessary, and coordinate audio/ podcast recordings of the event.
Attendance on 17 November is essential.
Previous experience of event organisation is desirable but not essential
Payment will be equivalent of 10 hours @ £19.70 per hour.
Please send expression of interest and a brief CV to Dr Carolyn Burdett firstname.lastname@example.org
Closing date is 09/10/17
This opportunity is only open to CHASE funded and associate students and students at CHASE institutions.
