This London based Deleuze reading group will discuss a selection of essays from Gilles Deleuze’s late work Essays Critical and Clinical.
Focussing on this collection of essays, this reading group aims to bring together researchers interested in Deleuze’s work with a view to better understanding his continued influence across disciplines.
Prior knowledge of Deleuze’s work is not necessary as meetings will aim to work through Deleuze’s central ideas. Discussing some of his most accessible works, we will steadily familiarize ourselves with Deleuze’s notoriously complex writing style and attempt to unpick his vast matrix of concepts.
The group will meet every Thursday from 6-8pm for six weeks (locations will vary so please contact me for details). The first meeting will be held on Thursday 30th June at SOAS in room GSG03 (53 Gordon Square) during which we will be discussing the first essay in the collection, ‘Literature and Life’ (this essay is available online in Critical Inquiry, 23:2, 1997) For the full reading list, or if you have any questions, please get in touch with me at firstname.lastname@example.org
Hope to see you there.
