Data management is essential to make sure that well organised, well documented, high quality and shareable research data result from your research project. This seminar will guide you through: documenting your data; formatting and organising your data; storing your data, including data transfer, encryption, and file sharing; ethical and legal issues in data sharing and handling confidential information; writing a data management plan for research grants.
The UK Data Service holds the UK’s largest collection of digital research data. Participants will learn about the different types of quantitative and qualitative data we hold, how to find those data collections using their online resource discovery tools, and how to register to access datasets in a number of different formats. The webinar will also demonstrate how some of data collections can be viewed and analysed online, as well as providing an overview of the support and training resources for students, researchers and teachers.
