Translation and 'World Literature' Conference

This one-day conference on ‘Translation and “World Literature”’ will give postgraduate students in Literature, Translation and Creative Writing an invaluable opportunity to encounter and engage in this important contemporary debate. The event includes:

• Dedicated poster session for students to showcase their research
• Research presentations from UEA and CHASE researchers.
• Report by CHASE sponsored postgraduate Institute for World Literature students
• Presentation by former British Centre for Literary Translation Director, Professor Peter Bush
• Launch of two classics of Catalan literature, recently translated by Professor Bush, appearing in October 2014: Joan Sales’ Uncertain Glory (Maclehose Press) and Josep Pla’s The Gray Notebook (NYRB Classics)

Open to all CHASE academic staff and postgraduate research students with an interest in world literature and translation
